New to Crossfit?

CrossFit workouts are comprised of constantly varied functional movements (like pushing, pulling, squatting, lifting, running) executed at high intensity. The workouts themselves are completely scalable, which means that a new participant and a CrossFit veteran can complete the same workout with changes in load and intensity. CrossFit workouts will deliver phenomenonal fitness in and of themselves or as a compliment to your sport-specific training regime.

Crossfit workouts are extremely demanding and will tax the abilities of even the worlds best athletes. All newcomers will start out with five personal training sessions (fundamentals) with a crossfit certified trainer. These instructors will teach you the fundamentals and basic movements utilized in our workouts, as well as help you understand the exercises, equipment and the intensity of the Workout of the Day (WOD). These five sessions also give us an understanding of your fitness background and your goals.

We want you to work toward completing the WOD comfortably and consistantly before throwing yourself at them 100%. The best results have come for those who've "gone through the motions" of the WOD by reducing recommended loads, reps and sets; while not endeavoring toward impressive times for a short period, you will very soon be turning up the heat. We cousel you to establish consistancy with the WOD before maximizing intensity.

These 5 sessions need to be completed within 5 consecutive days that we have available. In your fifth session you will be tested on your knowledge of all the skills that we taught you. If you have a fair knowledge of these skills after these 5 sessions are completed you will be advised as to whether you will go through a bridge class or start group classes. A bridge class will help you better your technique and form while gradually increasing your intensity; If you are ready for group classes, the workouts may still be scaled to your ability, but at the prescribed intensity.
